Charles Taylor, A Secular Age, p. 531:

“…the fate of belief depends much more

than before on powerful intuitions of individuals,

radiating out to others. And these intuitions

will be far from self-evident to others again.

To some, including many believers, this epochal

development will seem like a regression of Christianity.”

But, p. 535: “Knowledge, morality, art,

government and the economy should become

religious, but freely and from inside, not

by compulsion from outside.” (italics mine)

About Rolf Auer

I’m this doofus who’s trying to get by as a know-it-all poet. Fighting poverty has long been an abiding interest of mine. Sharing fast, easy, low-cost recipes is but one way of doing that.🙂
